Enjoying making a creative mess
Art Artist Blog Claudia Sylvester Creative CS London Interior Design

It sometimes takes a major life event (good or challenging) to make you realise what really is at your core when you're alone i.e apart from your loved ones, what makes you buzzy and happy?. My seminal moment was a health scare that shot me almost immediately back to my love of art and creativity. As much as I love my work in the corporate space, it's playing with colour, texture and ideas that I truly love. So alongside my jewellery... I'm making more time to get back to my first love...painting and sculpting and generally making a joyful mess.
So... with a new space in the studio dedicated to painting and things messy, I am embarking on some more creative projects. I will be sure to upload a video of my new studio soon. Let's go....
Collaboration on a shared dream
Claudia Sylvester

Working alongside other designers is something i've always really enjoyed. In design it's about being inspired and creating space to reveal the imagery you create in your mind. It's not about being competitive or being worried to share ideas, this isn't like the corporate space. I see my design time as a special place to release my creativity in order to feel peace and happiness. Working with others in this space is not only enjoyable but an essential part of supporting one another on our journey. I'm so happy to be working alongside someone i've admired for many years on...

Brand new Designs are just desperate to come out and party.

It's been a long time since i've launched my brand new designs on a website. Way back, I used to put them on my home page and sing and dance about them. I'm not sure it's to do with the fact that they seem to have to share the attention and my time with the Bespoke pieces or whether i'm not on my website enough. But I need to make a chance and embrace the technology. So... with that in mind I will post a few blogs about the story behind some of my new pieces that will soon be...
Does size really matter?
Claudia Sylvester

One of the first questions I usually get asked from a gentleman when enquiring about a Bespoke Engagement Ring is 'what size should I get?'. Well, it's always a little bit of a shocker for them to receive the news that the leap between carat sizes is substantially smaller than the leap between the price of each carat !
Personally, I mean if you can afford it then a 3 carat is a nice size (she says, ever hopeful hers will grow) BUT i've made many beautiful engagement rings that are bang on one carat.

So really the answer lies not in the size of stone but in the design. What are you hoping to achieve? What is the look you are going for? I also find that by having a different cut of diamond, say a princess or a marquise cut then you can often find they "appear" larger in size once set.
Whatever you decide, she's a lucky lady in the first place and anyway if she's so preoccupied by the size of the stone, then maybe it's a great opportunity to adjust the waving red flag in front of you and set off into the sunset.
